A porn star who brought the adult film industry to a halt this year (10) when he tested positive for HIV has spoken out for the first time, calling for mandatory condom use and improved testing for performers.
A number of major adult entertainment companies halted production in October (10) after Derrick Burts, 24, received the diagnosis, crippling the porn industry as studio bosses rushed to ensure the safety of adult movie actors.
Burts was not identified at the time, but he has now come forward with his story - urging porn bosses to tighten regulations to make sure the deadly disease is not spread.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "It's very dangerous (work). It should be required that you wear a condom on the set... Making $10,000 or $15,000 for porn isn't worth your life."
