Italian singer Giuseppe Mango has died after suffering a heart attack on stage on Sunday (07Dec14).
The 60-year-old was performing his hit single Oro at a concert in Policoro in his native Southern Italy when he raised an arm and said, "Excuse me" before suffering a cardiac arrest.
He was rushed to hospital and died later that day. His funeral will take place on Wednesday (10Dec14).
Editors at Italian news agency Ansa described it as the "perfect stage exit for an artist".
Mango was one of the best-known Italian pop singers of the 1980s, releasing more than 20 studio albums throughout his career. He is survived by his singer wife Laura Valente and their two children.
