Rapper GILLIE DA KID has been charged with drug dealing after being arrested in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Tuesday (06FEB07).
Gillie Da Kid - real name NASIR FARD - was arrested with five other people after police discovered 89 pounds (40 kilograms) of marijuana at two addresses in the city.
Fard was seen by police allegedly receiving a delivery of marijuana before his arrest. He and his associates stand accused of conspiracy and possessing narcotics with intent to deliver.
Narcotics cop Sergeant ROBERT FIELD says, "They were supplying numerous drug dealers all over the city, not just in the north east (of the US).
Fard was a member of rap group MAJOR FIGGAS before signing to Cash Money Records as a solo star - but he left the label after falling out with company boss BRYAN 'BABY' WILLIAMS and rapper LIL WAYNE.
The Rolling Stones star has thanked fans for their support following the news.
