Blues sensation Gary Clark, Jr. was the toast of the Austin Music Awards at the South by Southwest festival and music conference in Texas last week (ends15Mar13), sweeping eight major honours.
The singer/songwriter, who performed with The Rolling Stones last year (Dec12) landed Band of the Year, Musician of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year trophies among his haul.
His Blak and Blu release was also named Album of the Year and the hit Ain't Messin Round took home Song of the Year.
Clark, Jr. was also handed Electric Guitarist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Blues/Soul/Funk Artist of the Year awards.
