Disney hit Frozen has iced out the latest movie in the Paranormal Activity franchise at the top of the U.S. box office.
The animated film has become America's first number one of 2104 well over a month after its release.
The film took in $20.7 million (Gbp13.8 million) over the post Christmas and New Year holiday to keep new release Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones from the top spot. The horror film debuts in second place with $18.2 million (Gbp12.1 million) and Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug takes third place with $16.3 million (Gbp10.9 million).
