Rapper Freddie Gibbs will remain behind bars in France for at least another week after his Tuesday (07Jun16) hearing for a rape charge was postponed.
The Indiana-born hip-hop star, real name Frederick Tipton, had to cancel a show in Toulouse on 2 June (16) after he was taken into custody by French police. He appeared in court on 3 June (16) to face accusations of sexually assaulting a woman in Austria last year (15), and was due to return for another hearing on Tuesday (07Jun16).
However, the court date was pushed back until 16 June (16), while a motion for Gibbs to be granted bail will be heard on 14 June (16), reports The Local FR.
A lawyer for Gibbs, 33, has vehemently denied the allegations, and is planning to fight his client's extradition to Austria.
"Freddie Gibbs has indicated to the court that he would not be willing to be handed over to Austrian authorities without exercising his rights to a defense," states his attorney Michael Malka.
"He categorically denies the accusations made against him in Austria. He is even very surprised that Austria could act on this a year later, while he was on tour in Europe."
As a result of the arrest, Gibbs' upcoming live dates are in limbo. He had been due to wrap up his European shows in Portugal on Friday (10Jun16), before heading back to North America for a string of gigs, which begin in Toronto, Canada on 17 June (16).

What's new in the music world this week?
These albums are not nearly as appreciated as they should be.
Listen to her new song 'Callous Copper'.
They might sound like they're from the 70s, but they way they roll is very 2020.
'U Kin B the Sun' is an album rich in texture and depth and one that quite obviously, and unapologetically, plays to Frazey Ford's strengths.
Listen to their new single 'Small Change'.
