Fox's The Following picked up more followers on Monday, and with 8.7 million viewers, it beat competition from the second hour of ABC's The Bachelor: The Women Tell All, with 8.4 million viewers and the CBS comedies 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly with 6.4 million and 6.7 million respectively. (The CBS shows, however, were repeats.) NBC was the biggest loser in the time period, with The Biggest Loser drawing 5.7 million, which, for NBC these days, is a high-water mark. The success of the Kevin Bacon drama gave Fox a rare win for the night among total adults and among viewers 18-49.
The '12 Years A Slave' director will receive the accolade at the London Film Festival in October.
