Former BBC Radio 1 Dj Chris Denning has been refused bail after appearing in a London court to face 41 historical sex offence charges.
The British radio personality, 73, stands accused of abusing 22 boys between the ages of nine and 16 from 1967 until 1985. The multiple charges include 34 counts of indecent assault.
His lawyer made the request for bail during a hearing at Southwark Crown Court on Friday (06Jun14), but his bid was denied and Denning was remanded in custody.
Denning was first arrested a year ago (Jun13) as part of Operation Yewtree, an investigation which was launched after late British entertainer Jimmy Savile was exposed as a serial paedophile.
He has been summoned to return to court on 11 July (14).
