Nikki Finke may exit Deadline.com and launch a new entertainment industry news site, NikkiFinke.com, on Sept. 3, the New York Post reported today (Monday), citing unnamed sources. According to the newspaper, Finke's lawyers sent a letter to Jay Penske, chairman of Penske Media Group, which bought Deadline from Finke in 2009, setting a Sept. 3 deadline to settle disagreements in their business relationship. Finke, the Post said, is bristling under Penske's management of the website and claims he has broken the terms of her contract. Meanwhile, the report said, Finke's business adviser, Peter Levin, has been receiving inquiries from other potential suitors for Finke's brand, while Penske is considering merging the Deadline staff with Variety's should a schism occur. Each side has declined to comment.
The film is almost half an hour longer than 'The Force Awakens'.
The film is expected to continue without Mendes' involvement.
