The filming of the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton was halted when gunshots were fired near the movie crew.

Last week (ends10Aug14), the team behind the biopic was preparing to film outside the Compton Courthouse in California when a drive-by shooting erupted.

Onlookers tell that gunfire broke out after a group of men flashed gang signs at a passing car but police officers have not confirmed whether the incident was gang-related.

The cast and crew was shaken by the drama and one person, not related to the movie, was injured.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is investigating the incident.

Filming on the biopic, about the rappers' rise to fame in the 1980s, resumed this week (beg11Aug14).
