Film sound mixer George 'Ray' West has died, aged 90. The Oscar winner, who won the Best Sound prize in 1978 for his work on Star Wars, passed away at his home in Santa Barbara, California on 17 February (16), according to Variety.com. He also earned Emmy Awards for TV movies The Winds of Kitty Hawk and Unnatural Causes, and worked on shows The Wonder Years and The X-Files under his company West Productions.
