Gone Girl author-turned-screenwriter Gillian Flynn has been nominated for the University of Southern California Libraries' 27th annual Scripter Award. She will compete against the writers of The Imitation Game, Inherent Vice, The Theory of Everything and Wild for the honour, which celebrates the year's best adapted screenplays, as well as the authors of the books on which the films are based. The winner will be unveiled on 31 January (15). John Ridley claimed the accolade last year (14) for his adaptation of Solomon Northup’s 12 Years A Slave, which also won him an Oscar.
