Friday Night Lights, the critically praised but ratings-challenged drama, is going out with a bang. The show, which recently was able to stay alive by first being televised on DirecTV before being rerun on NBC, was nominated today (Thursday) as one of the five dramas nominated for best drama in the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards. (The series' Connie Britton was also nominated for best actress in a drama.) The Others are the HBO dramas Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones , TNT's Mad Men (which picked up an impressive 19 nominations), Showtime's Dexter , and CBS's The Good Wife . The nominees for best comedy are CBS's The Big Bang Theory, ABC's Modern Family, Fox's Glee , and NBC's The Office, 30 Rock and Parks & Recreation. Once again, HBO received the most nominations -- 104, 21 of which wet to its mini-series, Mildred Pierce.
