Revered movie mogul Don Mischer has signed on to direct the Oscars telecast for the third year running.
Mischer served as producer and director of this year's (12) Academy Awards, and next year's producers, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, have invited him back to oversee the 85th annual prizegiving in February (12).
Announcing the news, Zadan and Meron state, "For a very long time, we had always hoped to work with Don Mischer. His talent and reputation are unsurpassed and we're so happy he will be our collaborator on the 85th Academy Awards."
Last year's Oscars telecast received eight Emmy Awards nominations - the most for any TV special.
