Documentary filmmaker Michael Henry Wilson has lost his battle with lung cancer at the age of 67.
Wilson passed away on 26 June (14) in Westlake, California, according to Variety.com.
The director was known for his documentaries with famous filmmakers including A Personal Journey with Martin Scorsese Through American Movies, In Search of Kundun with Scorsese and Le Franc-Tireur with Clint Eastwood.
He also wrote documentaries Hollywood Mavericks and Reconciliation: Mandela's Miracle, and authored books on Eastwood and Scorsese.
Many ticket-holders couldn't get into the O2 Arena show on Tuesday night (September 19th) because they didn't bring photo ID to match their booking.
An album re-release, a new song and a documentary mark the singer's legacy this year.
The actor plays the titular hero in the forthcoming adaptation.
