The man who killed New York radio Dj Megatron has been ordered to serve 21 years behind bars.
William Williams was accused of gunning down the popular Tv personality, real name Corey MCGriff, near his home in Staten Island, New York and making off with the 32 year old's watch and cell phone in March, 2011.
He was arrested and hit with second-degree murder charges, as well as counts of robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, and he later pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors.
On Wednesday (03Apr13), Supreme Court Justice Robert J. Collini handed Williams the lengthy prison time and sentenced him to five years post-release supervision, according to local publication the Staten Island Advance.
Addressing Williams in court, the tragic star's mother, Louvenia MCGriff, said, "We will never ever understand how you killed our Corey. He lived to give and to help others."
Williams' alleged accomplice, Richard Cromwell, is expected to be sentenced next week (08Apr13) on felony charges of robbery and possession of stolen property.
