The former Radio 1 host was slapped with a three-month suspended prison sentence in September, 2014 after he was found guilty of groping a woman backstage at a TV show in 1995.

He launched a challenge against the conviction, but it was rejected on Tuesday (08Dec15) by a panel of judges at London's Court of Appeal.

"We are driven to the conclusion that there are no arguable grounds of appeal and accordingly the application for leave to appeal must be refused," Lady Justice Hallett told the court.

Outside the court, Travis told reporters, "Obviously, I am really, really disappointed - which is probably the understatement of the year... The Metropolitan Police, I am sure, will be extremely relieved today. They have managed with the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) to throw more mud at me in the last three years than anyone could conceive of."
