British soap star Danniella Westbrook has suffered a miscarriage.
The actress, who shot to fame on long-running drama EastEnders, hit headlines last month (May14) as it emerged she had fallen pregnant with cage fighter Tom Richards' baby, just weeks after he proposed following a whirlwind romance.
However, Westbrook's double joy has since turned to tragedy.
Her representative tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "I can confirm she has had a miscarriage", while a source adds, "This has hit Danniella hard as she was so excited to become a mum again."
Westbrook, 40, began dating Richards shortly after splitting from her husband of 12 years, businessman Kevin Jenkins, in January (14).
She and Jenkins are parents to 12-year-old Jodie, while Westbrook also has a 17-year-old son, named Kai, from a previous relationship.
The sad news is the latest in a string of troubles for Westbrook - in April (14), her home in Essex, England was burgled three times in as many weeks and her car was repossessed after a payment mix-up.
