Dance Music Veteran Guru Josh Has Died, Aged 51.
His agent, Sharron Elkabas, has revealed the star passed away in Ibiza on Monday (28Dec15).
Born Paul Walden in Jersey, one of the Channel Islands, he studied to become a dentist before getting involved in the music industry in the late 1980s, when he worked as a booking agent.
He began pursuing his music dreams by playing pub gigs with his band Joshua Cries Wolf, and later broke out on his own, as Guru Josh, and conquered the rave scene in the U.K. and Europe.
His debut release, Infinity, became his biggest hit in 1990, reaching number five on the U.K. singles chart. The anthemic track was revived in 2008 when it was remixed by German DJ Klaas for a whole new generation of ravers.
Guru Josh's follow-up track, Whose Law (Is It Anyway)?, was also a minor hit in Europe.
He released just one album, also titled Infinity, before moving to Ibiza to start his own event promotions company.
