The 'Together Again' hitmaker has a close family and loves being the person her siblings' children - including late brother Michael's kids Prince Michael, 14, Paris, 13, and nine-year-old Prince Michael II, known as Blanket - confide in with their problems.
She said: "We are a very close family. I love them all very much. A lot of my nieces and nephews come to me when they need someone to talk to. I've been told that I'm the cool aunt."
The 45-year-old singer is currently romancing businessman Wissam Al Mana, 35, and would "love" to start a family of her own.
She said: "If it's God's will then yes, I'd love to have children."
Janet sometimes finds the attention she receives in the public eye "tough" but is grateful for her fame and the opportunities it has brought her.
She told Closer magazine: "It would be nice to have a little more privacy. Whenever I feel like I need to step back a little, I do. I recharge and then I am ready to go again.
"Fame is all I have ever really known. I appreciate the opportunities I've been given through my work and I have made some amazing friends along the way."
