The CMA AWARDS 2010 came live from Nashville Tennessee last night (November 10th 2010), and the biggest night on the country music calendar saw Miranda Lambert and Brad Paisley walk away with the top prizes, however, it was the American actress Gwyneth Paltrow who stole the show with her live singing debut.
36-year-old Paltrow is set to star in the upcoming movie 'Country Strong', about a musician overcoming a drug addiction, and the actress showcased her musical talents to the packed Sommet Centre last night. Joined by the country veteran Vince Gill, Paltrow performed the title track from the forthcoming film with consummate ease, and Mtv News reported, "She boldly hit the song's high notes with a steady, even voice like a country pro". The performance was met with a standing ovation from the clearly impressed audience. In a recent interview, the actress spoke about her late foray into the music world, saying, "I had to learn how to play guitar, and I took singing lessons. It was a real challenge, but I felt like I pretty much pulled it off".
The star-studded evening saw Miranda Lambert walk away with three awards, 'Video of the Year', 'Album of the Year', and 'Female Vocalist of the Year', however, it was Brad Paisley who won the night's biggest award, 'Entertainer of the Year'.
