A female performer fell to her death during a Cirque Du Soleil show in Las Vegas on Saturday night (29Jun13).
The victim, identified as Sarah Guillot-Guyard, was performing in Ka at MGM Grand when she reportedly slipped free of her safety wire during a high-flying scene and fell into a pit below the stage.
Theatre bosses immediately brought the curtains down on the production as the 31 year old was rushed to the hospital, where the mother of two later died of her injuries.
A formal cause of death has yet to be released pending further investigation, but it marks the first death from an accident on stage in the circus company's 30-year history, according to the Las Vegas Sun.
