Hollywood cinematographer Robert Richardson is facing a charge of driving under the influence (Dui) after he was arrested on Friday night (17Aug12).
The 56 year old, who won Oscars for his work on The Aviator, Hugo and Jfk, was pulled over by police in Los Angeles for a traffic violation, but officers reportedly smelled alcohol on his breath and Richardson was taken into custody after failing a field sobriety test.
According to Tmz.com, the film veteran was booked with a blood alcohol level which was almost twice the legal limit.
He was released from jail on Saturday morning (18Aug12).
Richardson is also known for his work on Inglourious Basterds, Shutter Island and A Few Good Men.
The film will be the first in the Marvel Cinematic Universe led by a person of colour.
The actor plays the titular hero in the forthcoming adaptation.
