The wife of ailing U.S. radio personality Casey Kasem has filed court papers challenging a conservatorship bid by the beloved star's three children from his previous marriage.
Kerri, Julie and Mike Kasem launched legal action last week (08Oct13) after falling out with their estranged stepmother Jean, who has been accused of banning the kids from visiting their father for the past three months.
However, Jean Kasem has since hit back at their claims, insisting any conservatorship should be granted to her because she has been the prime caregiver for her husband, who is battling Parkinson's disease and early onset dementia.
She argues that the power of attorney her stepchildren claim to have from 2007 was actually nullified in 2011, when she was placed in control of Kasem's medical care.
Jean has also accused the three adult children of failing to repay loans she and Kasem have given them for the past few years, amounting to as much as $150,000 (£100,000) a year, according to Tmz.com.
