Country singer Buddy Miller was the big winner at the Americana Awards on Thursday night (13Oct11), landing two top honours.
The star, who is also a member of Robert Plant's band, was named Artist of the Year, and also picked up the Instrumentalist of the Year prize at the ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee.
Rocker Plant received the Album of the Year award for Band Of Joy, while Song of the Year went to Justin Townes Earle for Harlem River Blues.
Lifetime Achievement prizes went to Lucinda Williams (Songwriting), Gregg Allman (Performance) and Jerry Douglas (Instrumentalist). Newcomers were also honoured - British band Mumford & Sons picked up the New/Emerging Artist award.
