U.K. Tv veteran Michaela Strachan has undergone a double mastectomy after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
The 48 year old, who made her name on shows such as Tv-am and The Really Wild Show, was diagnosed with the illness in early 2014 and she subsequently underwent the drastic operation to remove both her breasts.
Strachan is now set to undergo reconstructive surgery.
She tells Britain's You magazine of her diagnosis, "The tears started to roll as my doctor tried to tell me what would happen next, but I only took in every fifth word or so... The one word that registered was 'cancer'. I couldn't get my head around the fact that on Monday morning I'd been apparently healthy, by Tuesday I had cancer, and by Wednesday I was talking about a double mastectomy."
Strachan is now an ambassador for U.K. charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
The actor says he isn't "holding out for more money or doing anything like that".
The drama will be making its return to the streaming service in the near future.
