British artist Robyn Denny has died, aged 83.

The expressionist painter passed away on 20 May (14). The cause of his death was not known as Wenn went to press.

Denny was best known in the 1950s and 1960s for his geometric paintings.

His first solo exhibition was held in London in 1957 and he soon expanded to European cities. His fame faded in the 1970s, but his work can still be found in art museums worldwide.

His last collection was displayed at the Laurent Delaye Gallery in London last year (13).
