LATEST: Former BBC radio DJ ANDY KERSHAW has been handed a three-month prison sentence after breaking a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend. The troubled Brit, 48, appeared at the High Bailiff's Court on the Isle of Man - off the west coast of Britain - on Tuesday (15Jan08) to hear his fate after confessing to continually ignoring a court order to stay away from Juliette Banner, the mother of his two children. At an earlier hearing in December (07), Kershaw admitted to sending "abusive" text messages to his former partner in November (07), as well as harassing Banner and her new partner, in a manner which was described as "menacing and provocative" by his ex. The DJ had already been arrested once before for harassing Banner back in August (07), and he was handed a suspended three-month prison term for the incident in October (07). But Kershaw's latest offence has resulted in a three-month stint behind bars, after High Bailiff Michael Moyle decided on the punishment. Handing down the sentence, Moyle told Kershaw his life was turning into a "Greek tragedy", adding: "You seem hell-bent on destroying yourself and you do not seem to appreciate that the author of your destruction is yourself. "I genuinely regret that you, by your actions, have brought this state of affairs to pass. I regret that I feel I have no obligation other than to impose custody."
