Bad language at Wednesday's (20Feb08) Brit Awards has sparked outrage among U.K. TV viewers. Regulatory body OfCom has been flooded with phone calls from angry viewers after host Sharon Osbourne launched into a tirade of obscenities during the two-hour live programme. The rock matriarch saw red when comedian Vic Reeves arrived on stage to present an award to the Arctic Monkeys - accusing him of being drunk and calling him a "pisshead" and a "bastard". Reeves later blamed his confusion on a faulty autocue. The annual awards in London have often made headlines for the wrong reasons - including Jarvis Cocker's protest against Michael Jackson in 1996. Last year's (07) event was the first time the awards had been shown live since 1989.
