Plans to name a street after late ROLLING STONE BRIAN JONES have been abandoned after housing developers complained.

BRYANT HOMES objected to the JUMPIN' JACK FLASH guitarist - who died in 1969 aged 27 - having a row of exclusive house named in his honour in his home town of Cheltenham, England.

BRIAN JONES CLOSE was set to be the street name for 70 houses until residents and prospective buyers complained to officials.

JANE GRUNNER, assistant director of policy at CHELTENHAM COUNCIL, says, "Some members thought it was a shame."
