A stack of late Belgian singer JACQUES BREL's belongings will be sold at auction in Paris, France on Wednesday (08Oct08).
The sale will take place a day before the 30th anniversary of Brel's death from lung cancer, despite protests from his family, who claim they have tried to buy the memorabilia privately.
The 94 items going under the hammer include records, notebooks, guitars, childhood photographs and his pilot's licence.
The auction is expected to fetch up to $640,000 (470,000 Euros/GBP345,000).
Most of the items are thought to have been recovered from a French home Brel shared with his mistress Silvie Riget.
