BRANDI FAVRE, the younger sister of the Nfl star Brett Favre, was arrested this week after police uncovered a 'meth lab' in the town of Diamondhead, Mississippi, according to the television station Wlox. Favre was one of five individuals charged with the manufacturing of meth, possession of a controlled substance, transferring a controlled substance and the generation of hazardous waste.
Brandi has been in trouble with the law on several previous occasions and she was charged with felony shoplifting in 1999 after stealing clothes from a department store. However, TMZ.com report that the 34-year-old is still "very close" to her famous brother and that she now plans to reach out to him for help in the wake of her arrest. The website quotes Brandi's attorney Richard Dymond as saying she still speaks to Brett on a "regular basis" and that despite her previous run-ins with the law she has never been convicted of a "serious crime". Narcotics agents say that the chemicals they uncovered from the meth lab were extremely dangerous and could have caused an explosion, and Director of the Hancock County Narcotics Task Force Matt Karl said, "When we arrived, there were a couple of people coming out of the house and the chemical smell was just overwhelming".
41-year-old Brett is yet to comment on the arrest, and he's been caught up in his own scandal recently after being investigated by the Nfl concerning allegations that he sent explicit text messages to a pitch-side reporter.
