Art director ROBERT BOYLE is to receive an honorary Academy Award after more than fifty years in show business. The 98-year-old, born in Los Angeles, trained as an architect until 1929's Great Depression cost him his job and he found work as an extra on a film. He went on to art direct more than 100 movies including North by Northwest, Fiddler on the Roof, The Birds and The Thomas Crown Affair. Academy President Sid Ganis says, "Robert Boyle's career is truly worthy of this honour. from his multiple collaborations with Alfred Hitchcock to his top-quality work on so many other films, this is a master film artist."
The actor says he isn't "holding out for more money or doing anything like that".
The drama will be making its return to the streaming service in the near future.
