Carl Williams, the heavyweight boxer who lost a controversial points decision to Larry Holmes in a classic 1985 fight, has died, aged 53.
Dubbed The Truth, he passed away after suffering complications from throat cancer.
Williams retired from boxing in 1997. He won 21 fights by knockout.
Top fighter Roy Jones, Jr. has paid tribute to the heavyweight, stating, "He was a phenomenal fighter with a big heart."
Williams was briefly the United States Boxing Association title holder; he lost that crown to Mike Tyson just 93 seconds into their 1989 fight in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
There's still no reunion planned though.
