The world's fastest man, USAIN BOLT, has been released from hospital following a car crash in his native Jamaica on Wednesday (29Apr09).
Bolt, who won gold and set new world records in the 100- and 200-metre events at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in China, underwent a minor operation on his left foot to remove thorns following the smash on a rain-soaked road.
He has been ordered to rest by doctors.
His agent Ricky Simms says, "We are pleased to report that Usain Bolt is fine after his car accident. He has been released from hospital and will have a few days rest as advised by the Jamaican Amateur Athletics Association's doctor.
"We will continue to monitor his progress over the next few days. It's too early to say if this will have any impact on his training and racing programme in the next few weeks."
