The Bollywood leading lady passed away in Mumbai, India on Friday (25Dec15).

Sadhana began working in film after her family fled Pakistan for India. At the age of 15, she was cast in her first movie, 1958's Abaana.

She went on to star in several films, including Love in Simla, Parakh, and Ek Musafir Ek Hasina and became known for her fringe haircut, which was dubbed the Sadhana cut.

Sadhana was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in the 1970s and retired from acting in the 1990s.

She was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Indian Film Academy in 2002.

Sadhana was married to director Ram Krishna Nayyar from 1966 until his death in 1995.
