Veteran singer BOBBY VINTON sparked concern during a performance in Pennsylvania last night (22FEB04) when he collapsed onstage.

The BLUE VELVET singer, 68, had been performing at the AMERICAN MUSIC THEATRE in Lancaster for about an hour when he sat down beside the piano player and dropped his head toward the keys.

Concertgoer DON EVES says, "The piano player caught him, and Bobby said the show was over for the night," adding that Vinton was perspiring very heavily.

Vinton recovered backstage - refusing hospitalisation - and later joined his family at a nearby hotel.
