Blood, Sweat & Tears saxophonist Bill Tillman has died.
The musician passed away at his mother's home in Houston, Texas, where he was awaiting a kidney transplant, on Wednesday morning (15Aug12). He was 65.
Reports suggest he died after hitting his head in a bathroom fall.
Tillman was also the musical director for Gladys Knight before he joined Blood, Sweat & Tears in the early 1970s. He remained with the band for six years before becoming a soloist for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
He released a string of solo albums - his last was Altogether in 2000.
He'll be performing a new residency at an intimate theatre.
