Blockbuster said Wednesday that some subscribers to its $19.99 monthly Total Access package will be able to add video games to their orders during the second quarter. However, like the movies ordered under the plan, the games will be delivered by the U.S. Postal Service. Blockbuster said that it hasn't seen sufficient demand for online delivery to justify the expense of expanding its online delivery business. "Right now, the entire digital download market, which is dominated by cable video on demand, is estimated to be only about $1.4 billion in size today, and growing to about $2.5 billion by the end of 2011," Blockbuster CEO reed Hastings said Wednesday. "So while we are very interested in the long-term development of this market, right now we're mostly interested in understanding consumer response and keeping pace with the emerging technologies that are available."
