Mary J. Blige sniffed the sweet smell of success on Wednesday (25May11) after her perfume took two top honours at the prestigious FiFi Awards.
The R&B star's My Life scent was named the Fragrance of the Year in the Direct to Consumer category as well as the Sales Breakthrough Winner at the annual perfume awards celebration in New York.
Blige's We Got Hood Love collaborator Trey Songz was at the event to hand the thrilled singer her prize.
She later took to her Twitter.com page to thank fans for snapping up bottles of her perfume, writing, "I'm so excited to tell my family the My Life fragrance won 2 huge awards at the FiFi's tonight!!!! Thank you so much!!! Thank you to every one who voted for the fragrance, purchased it and loves it!!!!!"
Actor Josh Duhamel also took to the FiFi stage to present his wife, Black Eyed Peas star Fergie, with the New Fragrance Celebrity of the Year trophy for her Oustpoken perfume.
The most poignant moment of the evening came during a tribute to late actress and perfumier Dame Elizabeth Taylor, who was inducted into the Fragrance Hall of Fame. The Celebrity Fragrance of the Year Award was also renamed in her honour.
The inaugural Elizabeth Taylor Fragrance Celebrity of the Year Award was presented to Halle Berry for her self-titled perfume.
Berry thanked her fellow perfumiers as she accepted her prize, telling the crowd, "I'm inspired by Fergie, by Mary J. Blige, by other winners here. Women, let's lift each other higher and higher!"
The actor says he isn't "holding out for more money or doing anything like that".
The drama will be making its return to the streaming service in the near future.
