BitTorrent, which offers the technology of choice for illegally downloading copyrighted movies, now claims to have more users than most countries have moviegoers. TorrentFreak.com reported on Wednesday that BitTorrent now claims that its uTorrent client is being used by 100 million people each month. TorrentFreak said that figure demonstrates that it has become the most used BitTorrent client in the world and that it has "become more mainstream than ever before. "This is a big milestone for uTorrent and adds to what has been a tremendous year of growth for the client," Shahi Ghanem, Chief Strategist at BitTorrent told TorrentFreak. The website said that a paid version of uTorrent is expected to be released later this year that will have the ability to convert videos for use on mobile devices.
