Pulitzer Prize-winning author Gregory White Smith has died at the age of 62.
He passed away from a brain tumour in Aiken, South Carolina on Thursday (10April14), according to the New York Times.
Smith was best known for the 1990 biography Jackson Pollock: An American Saga, which won him the coveted Pulitzer Prize.
The book went on to become the basis for the 2000 film Pollock, which starred Ed Harris.
Smith also co-wrote a biography on Vincent van Gogh, titled Van Gogh: The Life.
