Oscar-nominated Disney hit Big Hero 6 has held off tough competition from spy drama Kingsman: The Secret Service to retain the top spot at the U.K. box office.
The superhero movie, which features the voice of Ryan Potter, is set to battle for the Animated Feature Film prize at the upcoming Academy Awards and it is proving a runaway success in the U.K. prior to the big industry prizegiving.
Big Hero 6 took $4 million (£2.5 million) over the weekend (06-08Feb15) to stay in the number one position for the second week in a row.
Kingsman: The Secret Service held on to second spot with takings of $3.5 million (£2.2 million), and the newly-released Shaun the Sheep Movie debuted in third, with $3.3 million (£2.1 million).
Another new release, Jupiter Ascending, landed in fourth spot with $2 million (£1.3 million), and Oscars favourite American Sniper slipped two places to fifth, with $1.5 million (£980,000).

The actor says he isn't "holding out for more money or doing anything like that".
