Former Bollywood actress MONICA BEDI has been cleared of forgery charges in Bhopal, India.
The star was acquitted of charges of forging a passport at a hearing on Monday (16Jul07) after police failed to find enough witnesses willing to testify against her.
Two years ago (05), Bedi was extradited from Portugal with Abu Salem, who is facing a trial over his involvement in the Mumbai bomb blasts of 1993, in which 257 people were killed. Police claim the pair fled India shortly after the attacks.
Last year (06) Bedi was sentenced to five years in prison for an offence relating to the bomb blasts, and is currently on bail pending an appeal.
