Ballet dancer Jack Widdowson's attacker has been jailed for 13 years after a court in Cardiff, Wales found him guilty of causing grievous bodily harm.
The teenage Bern Ballet Company star was left with a broken neck after he was assaulted by Mohammed Ali Mohamoed, 27, in Cardiff back in November, 2011.
Mohamoed admitted stealing Widdowson's mobile phone, but maintained someone else must have attacked him and left him for dead.
Widdowson feared he would be paralyzed following the encounter, but he was dancing again eight months after the attack, thanks to intensive hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions.
Judge Justice Wyn Williams sentenced Mohamoed to 13 years behind bars and ordered he be deported back to Egypt after serving his sentence.
