Emily Maynard and Jef Holm have called off their engagement and insist they have no regrets about their whirlwind romance on 'The Bachelorette.'
'The Bachelorette' stars Emily Maynard and Jef Holm have split.
The couple have called it quits amid rumours of Emily's infidelity following their engagement during the season finale of the hit ABC show in May.
Single mother Emily announced: ''I am sorry to tell you that Jef and I have, indeed, parted ways. It was a very difficult and heartbreaking decision.
''As you know, at first I wasn't sure that I should even be 'The Bachelorette', but I am a hopeless romantic and I do believe in the show.
''I have no regrets because I did find love and shared an incredible journey with a really special person - and you know what, we tried our best because the love between us was so real.''
The couple's romance has been dogged in recent weeks by allegations that Emily was sending flirty text messages to a pro footballer, while Jef is said to have reconciled with his ex-girlfriend.
His scorned ex also claimed he had agreed to split Emily's $150,000 winnings to keep up appearances.
Jef issued a statement today (18.10.12) in which the entrepreneur insists he has no regrets about his whirlwind romance with the blonde beauty and hopes to remain close to her and her seven-year-old daughter Ricki.
He said: ''Emily and I are great friends and I hope we can continue to be friends forever. Everyone wants a salacious story to break, but the truth is we are just two people who fell in love and tried our hardest to make it work. I will always love her.''
