For a change, an established ratings powerhouse is finishing the season with stronger ratings than it did the previous season. The two-hour season finale of The Bachelor Monday night drew 9.99 million viewers, and the one-hour post-finale special, The Bachelor: After the Final Rose attracted 11.01 million viewers. Helping to lift Fox into second place for the night, its new The Following continued to show strength despite the strong competition from The Bachelor. Although it followed a rerun of Bones, the show managed to attract 8.04 million viewers at 9:00 p.m. and 7.94 million at 9:30 p.m.
