ASHLEY HARLAN has announced her engagement to the Pittsburgh NFL star BEN ROETHLISBERGER, reports the New York Daily News. 27-year-old ASHLEY HARLAN met the star quarterback back in 2005.
News that the pair were engaged began to arise back in January 2011 but it was never confirmed whether Roethlisberger had popped the question. However, the couple are now officially engaged and plan to marry on 23rd July 2011. Speaking about his bride-to-be, Roesthlisberger said, "We were kind of on and off again for five years - almost six years now - so I've known her awhile. It's not like a random new person. We dated a while ago, we have been friends ever since" Despite the upcoming wedding, the pair will not be living together because of religious reasons. Roesthlisberger says he is ready for the inevitable bombardment from the media, saying, "I understand it's going to happen a little bit, but I'm still going to try to be very protective of the people I love, my family, my sister, my aunts, uncles, grandparents and now her. I try to be very protective of them because I don't want her to have to be scrutinized over every little thing she does".
27-year-old ASHLEY HARLAN works as a physician's assistant and still lives with her parents.
