Editors of a newspaper in China have issued an apology over pictures taken of late singer Yao Beina as her body lay in a hospital morgue.
The 33-year-old star passed away on Friday (16Jan15) following a three-year battle with breast cancer, and her family later lodged a complaint with The Shenzhen Evening News after photographs were taken of her dead body at a local medical facility.
The pictures were allegedly snapped by undercover reporters during a procedure to remove the star's corneas for donation, and the story caused a storm of controversy on social media.
Editors of the newspaper have now issued an apology and insisted the images have been deleted.
The statement, which was posted on one of the publication's official social media accounts, reads, "We sincerely apologise for the disturbance and discomfort we have caused to Yao's family, fans and (online supporters)."
These are the albums we've been loving this month.
Some notable names are missing from this year's line-up.
'Father of All...' isn't an awful album but it certainly isn't that good either.
Listen to Generation Dude's 'Radio Pills'.
Listen to her new song 'I'll See This As A Blessing'.
