Mercury Prize winner ANTONY HEGART is shocked by the harsh coverage he received in the British media.
The ANTONY AND THE JOHNSONS singer was thrilled to walk away with the prestigious British award this month (07SEP05), but is reeling from the criticism launched at him by some UK newspapers - because he was raised in America.
Hegart says, "It can be really dramatic reading all those opinions of you, but you shouldn't read that stuff, it'll only make you crazy.
"They're in the business of trying to create entertainment from reality."
Many ticket-holders couldn't get into the O2 Arena show on Tuesday night (September 19th) because they didn't bring photo ID to match their booking.
An album re-release, a new song and a documentary mark the singer's legacy this year.
The film will be the first in the Marvel Cinematic Universe led by a person of colour.
The actor plays the titular hero in the forthcoming adaptation.
